I think Hulu Plus is great for watching certain shows. I really like to watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report and Hulu adds new episodes the day after they air. The commercials are a little annoying and that is where Netflix has an advantage as their shows are commercial free. But Netflix doesn't offer shows the very next day after they air like Hulu Plus does. I also noticed that some episodes do expire. For example, I wanted to go back and watch the show Revolution from the beginning but several of the early episodes had already been removed. I'm not sure how that all works because some shows do have all the episodes available. I have both Hulu Plus and Netflix and together you get a ton of content for $15.98 a month compared to the $100 I was paying for cable.

I've never been so frustrated than when I got Hulu Plus. It says it has every episode... A random 4 were missing from the middle of the season because te expired. It is way too slower for anyone to actually have patients to watch something. Netflix is a million times better. This is not even worth a one week free trail. Terrible.

Not sure what you meant by it's worth for the Netflix alone. PlayOn does not give you free Netflix. You still have to have subscription to stream any shows from it.

I personally would not enjoy my playon experience if it werent for the 3rd party scripts. That is where majority of the best content lies. Granted they are quirky at times and the content can cut in/out at times due to how playon processes the videos; when they work, you can get anything you want. I learned to write scripts and created my own to serve my purposes (i.e. look up 5 star flicks and tv shows). There are many other good ones posted by other 3rd party developers as well.

good article but I think you should mention the differences in the App. While anyone with internet can watch anything on ESPN3 the other networks are not available unless you have a TV subscription with one of the major cable providers.

Don't buy it! Tried NBA LP broadband instead of buying cable. I live in SD and mostly wanted it for the Lakers. What's not apparent is that they blackout every game that is televised! That's right every game in your market that is televised. So this is not a replacement for cable as you can't watch any games broadcasted or blacked out.

To top it off, while trying to get it working my login was locked out and I've had no response from cust service in 4 days. Save your money, run away.

So I have boxee and I want to get NBA league pass and fox soccer plus 2 go so that I can have the sport I like and ditch the remaining $78 a month in cable costs just to watch sport. However I've heard there is a flash issue that affects watching the league pass on your tv through a boxee box. I was wondering if I would be able to watch it through my Wii or if I would have to wire my computer to my tv.

That's correct, PlayOn is having a sale and promotional offer right now. For $69.99 (discounted from $89.99) you get a lifetime license for PlayOn and just by sharing the offer on facebook you get a Roku LT (a $49.99 value) for free! You have to pay $9.99 shipping and handling, but this is still a great deal. To check out this offer go to the <a href="http://www.quitcable.com/recommends/playon" title="PlayOn Website" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">PlayOn website</a> and click the "Buy It" button in the upper right.
You can find out more about Roku from our <a href="http://www.quitcable.com/roku-2-review/" title="Roku 2 Review" rel="nofollow">Roku review</a>!
