VEVO Review

VEVOOverview

VEVO is an online music video streaming service that caters to the music lover by making it easy to stream music videos from all  genres right on the TV. VEVO is the Hulu of music videos, and it’s one of the biggest video services on the web with over 45,000 videos currently available, not counting additional behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews, and live performances. By signing in to VEVO with your Facebook account, the site can offer you a more personalized experience with personal playlists and recommendations based off you and your friends’ likes.

What We Liked

  • Easy—VEVO’s user interface is easy to navigate so finding all of your favorite music videos and setting up playlists will be a snap
  • iTunes Sync—15 seconds is all VEVO needs to look through your iTunes music library and automatically create a playlist for you with music videos based off of what’s in your personal music collection
  • Supported Devices—VEVO can be enjoyed on a wide variety of devices, so you can enjoy the music you want when you want it

What We Didn’t Like

  • Censorship—music videos from VEVO are censored to block out an explicit content (this is done to keep VEVO appropriate for all users and be family friendly)
  • Limited Playlists—while users used to be limited to 75 videos in a playlist, in February 2012 a new version of VEVO launched with unlimited playback
